The Nizhny Novgorod public transport electrification program was presented to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak by the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin. The Deputy Prime Minister’s working trip to the Nizhny Novgorod Region began with an acquaintance with the electric charging infrastructure: the first fast electric charging station in the region installed on the territory of the Strigino international airport.

The equipment was produced in Russia by a serial manufacturer of EZS – Concern “Radioelectronic Technologies” (KRET) – and delivered to the region jointly with Sitronics Group, part of AFK Sistema. Electric charging infrastructure is being created as part of the Electric Transport and Charging Infrastructure pilot project.
“By 2024, the number of electric stations in the country should reach 11 thousand. Now the Russian government is developing an initiative to support the development of electric transport and infrastructure. The Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Energy are working out the details. We intend to further stimulate this direction “, – said Alexander Novak.
The Gorky Automobile Plant has created electric buses for the first route in Nizhny Novgorod. In the near future, electric buses “GAZelle e-NN” will go on the route from the airport “Strigino” to the metro station Park Kultury.
“It is gratifying to note that such an important infrastructure project as the introduction of environmentally friendly public transport, we sell together with Russian companies. Our partners are exclusively domestic manufacturers. Moreover, the project makes maximum use of the potential of the Nizhny Novgorod region itself – the Gorky Automobile Plant of GAZ Group provides transport for the pilot project. The electric charging stations installed in the region are manufactured by the Concern “Radioelectronic Technologies”, and the operator of the complex solution for the charging infrastructure for the first route is the Sitronics Group company “, – said the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
In 2021 year, the project is expected to be scaled up. It planned to install up to 90 electric charging stations in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The operator of the first electric charging stations in the Nizhny Novgorod region was the Sitronics Group Company in partnership with KRET JSC.
“As part of the pilot project in Nizhny Novgorod, a comprehensive solution has already been launched – these are electric filling stations and a digital control platform. Our company provides prompt service, a system of remote monitoring and control of a network of gas stations, including a mobile application. This allows you to monitor the status of charging stations, the status of electric buses, and drivers, accordingly, can plan a charging schedule. All of the region’s electric charging needs to be met with this comprehensive solution. Moreover, for this we are ready to consider the possibility of implementing a project on a service model using a concession, life cycle contracts and other similar tools. This is the best way to meet the needs of the region without additional financial burden on the budget “, – said Nikolay Pozhidaev, President of Sitronics Group.
The route from Strigino airport to Park Kultury metro station is the first” electric “route In Nizhniy Novgorod. It will also become the first public transport route in Russia on which electric GAZelles will operate. At the first stage, it will operate in a test mode, depending on the passenger traffic.
The range of the electric car “GAZelle e-NN” on one charge is 120 km, it can be increased to 200 km by installing additional batteries. You can quickly charge up to 80% capacity in 30 minutes.
